Justice and Peace at St Aidan’s

“And what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,    and to walk
humbly with your God?”   Micah
6.8:

Persecution, racism, poverty and violence – these are all present in our world and in our city. Here at St Aidan’s we try to live out the words of the prophet Micah both as individuals and as a community.

The Justice and Peace group seeks to raise awareness of issues through information, events and prayer.

During Poverty and Homelessness action week, which begins  on 28th January,  we will be distributing prayer cards in the congregation and having a soup lunch to raise funds for Simon on the Streets after Mass on 5th February.

You might want to come to the group regularly to be part of planning future events or you might want to ask the group to highlight the concerns around something you care about. The group is also beginning to work with members of the wider community on areas of common concern.

Our next meeting is on 24th April at 7.15 in church
