On Saturday 5 December St Aidan’s will be hosting Harrogate Choral Society as they present Handel’s ‘Messiah’. Performed by a choir of more than 100 high quality singers, Handel’s timeless classic will show off the wonderful acoustics of our magnificent building.
In an exciting new setting, the choir will be joined by soloists Sarah Power, Soprano; Hannah Mason, Contralto; Trystan Llyr Griffiths, Tenor; and Andrew Mahon Bass. The choir will be accompanied by Daniel Justin on the organ and conducted by the HCS Music Director Andrew Padmore.
Of all the works of classical music that are known to the general public, the Hallelujah chorus from Handel’s Messiah is possibly the most famous. Regardless of your religious background or ideals, Messiah is renowned as one of the greatest musical works ever produced.
The concert starts at 7:30 pm and there will be refreshments at the interval.
Tickets are £10 (or £5 for under 16s, students with an NUS card, and the unwaged) on sale from the ticket team at email@example.com or 01423 874219 or on the door on the night. If you are travelling from Harrogate, HCS are organising coach travel to St Aidan’s for audience members. Tickets are £6 for the return journey.
